All Eagles Semifinals Set at ITA Regionals; Bridget Harding/Katarina Su Reach Doubles Final

The Emory women's tennis program continued their strong play at the USTA/ITA South Regional Championships on Saturday afternoon. In the singles draw, four Eagles made it through to Sunday's semifinals after winning twice on Saturday. In doubles, the duo of Bridget Harding and Katarina Su advanced through the quarterfinals and semifinals to reach Sunday's championship match.

In singles action, Michelle Satterfield, Taylor Cosme, Harding and Madison Gordon all advanced to Sunday's semifinals in the main draw. Top seeded Satterfield defeated teammates Paula Castro (6-4, 7-5) and Daniela Lopez (6-2, 7-6 (11)) on her way to the final four. Cosme got past NC Wesleyan's Natalia Lopez 6-2, 6-1 before beating Melissa Goodman in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2. Harding defeated Sewanee's Clementina Davila 6-1, 6-2 in the Round of 16 before she knocked off the defending champion and teammate Beatrice Rosen 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 in a tough three set quarterfinal match. Madison Gordon reached the semifinals following a three set win over Katarina Su (6-1, 4-6, 6-1) and a straight set victory over Sewanee's Lindsay Liles (6-3, 6-4) in the quarterfinals.

In the main doubles draw, Su and Harding defeated Castro and Daniela Moreno-Kaste 9-8 (5) in the quarterfinals before knocking out Rosen/Gordon 8-3 to reach Sunday's main doubles final. They will face Davila and Liles from Sewanee who beat Goodman/Lopez (8-4) and top seed Satterfield/Fuhr (9-7) en route to the championship match.
