From Emory University Athletics

The Emory University women's tennis program improved to 11-2 on the season on Saturday afternoon, dispatching both Oglethorpe and Millsaps by a 9-0 margin at the Woodruff PE Center outdoor tennis courts. The Eagles did not lose a set in either of the two matches.

Against the Stormy Petrels, sophomore Anna Fuhr and freshman Daniela Lopez earned the no.1 doubles point 8-2 while juniors Michelle Satterfield and Paula Castro teamed up for the no.2 doubles win 8-1. Senior Beatrice Rosen and freshman Daniella Moreno-Kaste blanked Oglethorpe 8-0 on the no.3 doubles court for the doubles sweep.

In singles action, Satterfield won on the no.1 line for the first time this season by a 6-1, 6-1 count. Freshman Taylor Cosme earned the no.2 singles point 6-1, 6-0 and junior Katarina Su did not drop a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win at no.3 singles. Also picking up a 6-0, 6-0 victory against the Stormy Petrels was Castro on the no.5 singles court. Fuhr was triumphant 6-2, 6-0 in no.4 singles and junior Melissa Goodman rounded out Emory singles action with a 6-1, 6-0 decision on the no.6 line.

In the second match of the day against Millsaps, Fuhr and Lopez collected another win for the no.1 doubles point, winning 8-3. Sophomore Bridget Harding and Castro had an 8-2 victory on the no.2 doubles court while seniors Madison Gordon and Stephanie Loutsenko shutout the Majors' no.3 doubles duo 8-0.

Harding moved to 7-2 on the year at no.1 singles for Emory with a 6-1, 6-0 victory. Rosen dropped just two games in the first set en route to a 6-2, 6-0 decision on the no.2 singles court. Both Gordon and Lopez made quick work of their opponents in no.3 and no.4 singles, winning 6-0, 6-0. Moreno-Kaste had a 6-0, 6-1 triumph on the no.5 singles line and Loutsenko needed a tiebreaker in the second set after an easy first but was able to come away with a straight set win, 6-0, 7-5.
