Two Maroons Advance to Flight Finals at Bradley Invitational

The University of Chicago women's tennis team advanced two players to flight finals at day two of the Bradley University Invitational on Saturday. UChicago is one of seven teams at the Bradley Invite and also the only NCAA Division III team.

In the top A Flight in singles, freshman Rachel Kim and sophomore Ariana Iranpour won both of their matches handily to advance to the final. The two teammates are the top two seeds and will face off in Sunday's final. Iranpour defeated freshman teammate Kaela Bynoe in her first match of the day.

In the B Flight singles, sophomore Jasmine Lee went 1-1 on the day and lost in three sets in the semifinals. Sophomore Courtney Warren also went 1-1 in the C Flight Singles and fell in the semis in three sets.

The Maroons had four doubles tandems get wins on the day. The combo of Bynoe and Iranpour won their first match 8-3 before losing in the A Flight semis 8-6. Lee and freshman Jenna Reisler reached the B Flight semis with an 8-5 win before falling 8-3.

Kim and Warren went 2-1 and will play for the A Flight consolation championship on Sunday. The duo won its last two matches 8-6 and 8-7. Junior Tiffany Chen and senior Lucy Tang won their last match 8-0 to advance to the B Flight consolation championship.
