From University of Rochester Athletics

The University of Rochester women's tennis team shined in doubles play on Sunday, capturing three of the four flight titles at the St. Lawrence University Canton Classic.

Overall, Rochester doubles teams went 6-2 in play on Sunday to capture the titles at #1, #3 and #4.  The pair of Christine Ho and Camila Garcia were UR's top duo.  Lauren Zickar and Alex Wolkoff were the #3 winners and at #4, it was Karianne Sretavan and Mariana Flores Kim earning the trophy.

On Sunday, Ho and Garcia were 8-4 winners over SUNY Geneseo and then won 8-1 over their St. Lawrence opponents to finish 2-1 on the weekend.  At #3, Zickar and Wolkoff won 8-6 over Geneseo and 8-2 over their own teammates in the "St. Lawrence" match.  Host SLU had some injuries and were limited to only two doubles teams during the weekend.

In the 4th doubles spot, Sretavan and Flores Kim won a tough match over their Geneseo opponents, winning 9-8 (5).

Rochester did not fare as well in singles play on Sunday, losing all eight matches in its matchup against Hamilton College.  Dorothy Tai (#2), Wolkoff (#6) and Flores Kim (#8) all took a set from their opponent, but fell in a third set.

The tournament was played as a round-robin event with four teams, Rochester, Hamilton, SUNY Geneseo and St. Lawrence.  UR played St. Lawrence and Geneseo in singles and Hamilton in doubles on Saturday and then flipped and played SLU and Geneseo in doubles today and singles against Hamilton.
