No. 12 Washington University Upsets No. 9 Carnegie to Advance to UAA Title Match

No. 12-ranked Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team upset No. 9 Carnegie Mellon University 6-3 in the semifinals of the 2016 University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship Saturday in Altamonte Springs, Fla.

"I am very proud of the team. We were down after doubles and we fought hard till the very end," said 11th-year head coach Kelly Stahlhuth. "We new we could do it, and everyone on our team truly believed they could win this match."

WashU improved to 15-7, 2-0 in the UAA, while Carnegie fell to 15-6, 1-1 in the UAA.
