Bridget Harding and Katarina Su of Emory Capture ITA DIII Doubles Championship; Harding Rallies to Advance to Singles Final

From Emory University Athletics

Junior Bridget Harding and senior Katarina Su captured the Division III Doubles Championship on Friday evening, defeating Johns' Hopkins Ashnaa Rao and Mikey Barthlemass 6-1, 6-1 in the championship match.

With the victory, the Emory duo becomes just the fourth doubles team to win the Division III Doubles Championship at the ITA Small College National Tournament (now known as the ITA Oracle Cup) in program history and the first since Gabrielle Clark and Emma Taylor in 2012. Harding and Su now advance to the ITA Oracle Cup, formerly known as the ITA 'Super Bowl,' to face the winners of the Division II, NAIA and JUCO draws.

Earlier in the afternoon, Harding reached the finals in the Division III singles competition, rallying for a come-from-behind victory over Washington University's Rebecca Ho 0-6, 7-5, 6-3. Harding now faces Wisconsin-Whitewater's Megan Humphreys in the championship match beginning tomorrow at 11:30 am eastern.
