Bridget Harding/Katarina Su Headed to ITA Oracle Cup Doubles Championship After Semifinal Win

Junior Bridget Harding and senior Katarina Su advanced to the ITA Oracle Cup National Championship on Saturday afternoon at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex in Surprise, Arizona, defeating JUCO representatives Maria Medina and Julia Sergheeva from State College of Florida 6-1, 7-4 (4) in the semifinals.

With the victory, Harding and Su become the first doubles team in program history to reach the ITA Oracle Cup/Super Bowl Championship. The duo will face Division II representatives and defending ITA Doubles Champions Diana Bogolii and Rosalie Willig from Lynn College in championship match on Sunday. Biogolii and Willig knocked off Georgia Gwinnett College's DiSalvo/Vasilyeva 6-3, 6-2 in the other semifinals match.

Earlier in the afternoon after capturing the Division III championship, Harding saw her singles run come to an end, falling to SCF's Medina in the semifinals. Harding off to a strong start, winning the first set 6-1, Medina responded however, winning the second set 6-0 to force a winner-take-all third set. Harding fell behind 2-0 before answering with three straight of her to take a 3-2 lead. Medina was able to regroup and took the final four games from Harding to win 1-6, 6-0, 6-3.
