Yellowjackets Post Third Consecutive Win, Top Ithaca 9-0

The University of Rochester women's tennis team picked up its third straight victory with a 9-0 shutout of host Ithaca College on Tuesday at Glazer Arena.
 
The win moves UR's record to 9-4 on the season while Ithaca drops just its fourth match of the season and is 13-4.
 
Rochester was strong in doubles, jumping out to an early 3-0 lead. Alex Wolkoff and Abbey Reinhart picked up an 8-2 win over Brianna Ruback and Jodi Grosberg to start things off at #2. Sravya Gudipudi and Bianca Dyer then followed that win an 8-1 win at #3 over Taylor Ginestro and Hannah Kasoff.
 
The Yellowjackets would head into singles with a 3-0 lead after the #1 doubles team of Lauren Zickar and Camila Garcia topped Haley Kusak and Caroline Dunn 8-6.
 
In singles, five of the six matches went straight sets in favor of UR. Darby McCall opening the singles scoring with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Jane Alkhazov at #6.  Zickar then posted the clinching point at #4, defeating Grosberg 6-2, 6-4.
 
Wolkoff then topped Dunn 7-6 (3), 6-1 at #3, Gudipudi followed suit with a 7-5, 6-2 win at #2 before Garcia topped Kusak in the only three set match of the day.  The Rochester sophomore won 5-7, 7-5, 10-3, before the final match went in favor of Reinhart in an 8-5 pro set at 5th singles over Ginestro.
