The University of Rochester women's tennis team picked up its second straight victory on Wednesday, dispatching William Smith College 7-2 at the Bristol Field House.
Four Yellowjackets were double winners on the day, with Camila Garcia, Sravya Gudipudi, Abbey Reinhart and Yaya Wang all winning twice.
The win moves Rochester to 3-6 on the season while William Smith drops to 5-3.
UR got the match off to a strong start, as the Yellowjackets swept all three doubles points. Alex Wolkoff and Reinhart were 8-1 winners at #2 over Kate Foley and Allie Perron. Garcia and Gudipudi followed suit, winning 8-4 at #1 over Michelann Denton and Dina Rigas. Wang and Bianca Dyer completed the 3-0 start winning a nailbiter 8-7 over Charlotte Engebrect and Katelyn Nguyen at #3.
The Herons would open singles play getting one of their two points on the night from Foley who won 6-4, 6-0 over Wolkoff at #3. Reinhart then quickly answered back with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Engebrecht at #4 to pull UR up 4-1.
Wang then earned the match clinching victory, defeating Rigas at #5 7-6 (5), 6-2. Gudipudi and Garcia then each won their matches at #2 and #1 respectively in three-set affairs. Gudipudi won 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 over Denton, while Garcia topped Perron 6-3, 0-6, 7-5.
William Smith's Leland Barclay then closed the match with a 6-3, 7-6 (4) win over Dyer in the final match.
