The University of Chicago women's tennis team continued its postseason run with a 5-0 shutout of Carleton College in the third round of the NCAA Division III Championship on Saturday.

The No. 1-ranked Maroons maintained their perfect record, moving to 21-0. The Knights (22-1 record) were dealt their first loss of the season.

With the win, UChicago advances to its 11th NCAA quarterfinal in 14 all-time tournament appearances. The Maroons will next face conference foe Carnegie Mellon University on May 14 in Florida.

The home team registered a pair of 8-3 victories at the No. 1 (Sylwia Mikos/Shianna Guo) and No. 3 (Nicole Geller/Lauren Khou) doubles spots. After a weather delay, the No. 2 tandem of Claudia Ng and Perene Wang finished off their opponents 8-4.

UChicago needed only two victories in singles to end the match early via decision. Miranda Yuan and Claudia Ng delivered at the No. 5 and No. 6 positions, respectively. Yuan rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 triumph and Ng got the clincher 6-1, 6-2.
