Jessie Moore of Brandeis Claims ECAC Heptathlon Title

The Brandeis outdoor track and field team wrapped up the majority of its season this weekend with the ECAC Division III Championships at Westfield State University.

On the women's side, Brandeis had one champion, as the Judges saw junior Jessie Moore (Rye, N.Y./Rye) win three events to capture her first career victory in the heptathlon with a lifetime best score of 3677. She eclipsed her previous career-best by 135 points and won the event by just 32 points. Moore won the 200-meter dash and the 800-meter run and tied for the best mark in the high jump. She established personal bests in four of the seven events: the 100-meter hurdles (18.49 seconds), the shot put (9.80 meters, 32-2), the 200-meter dash (26.79 seconds), the 800 (2:34.05).

Senior Maddie Dolins (Highland Park, Ill./Highland Park) closed out her career with a second-place finish in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 19:06.95.

Moore also helped the Judges' 4x100-meter relay earn a point with a seventh-place finish. She ran the anchor leg, with sophomore Kanya Brown (Amherst, Mass./Amherst Regional) running leadoff and rookies Kayla Fahey (Kingston, Mass./Silver Lake Regional) and Courtney Page () running the second and third legs as the Judges finished with a time of 50.95 seconds.
