The women's track & field team took on the Ramapo College Roadrunner Invitational in Mahwah, NJ on Saturday, March 31.

Evelyn Nkanga continued to build her case as one of the country's best at the triple jump with a third-place finish on Saturday. The sophomore cleared a distance of 11.06m in her first jump of the outdoor season. Ramapo's Amber Edwards, the indoor triple jump champion, took the gold by clearing 11.29m. Senior Brianna Yee took eighth with a season-best jump of 10.26m.

"Evelyn's goal is to get to the top three in the country," said Head Coach Erison Hurtault. "Another pretty decent performance today. I know Evelyn is capable of much more."

Yee returned to finish ninth in the long jump. The Blauvelt, NY, native cleared a career-tying jump of 4.93m.

"She has been a consistent scorer in all her years here," said Huratult. "She has the determination and the drive. She likes to compete. She likes to support the team. Her performances will continue to improve througout the year."

On the track, Hannah Haley steered the Violets' distance runners in the 1,500m. The senior from Windsor, CA, secured fourth place by posting a career-best time of 5:01.24. Following behind were fellow seniors Megan Davis and Morel Malcolm in seventh (season best 5:08.70) and 13th (season best 5:16.05) place, respectively.

"Hannah is one of those people we depend on in a lot of events," said Hurtault. "She does what we ask her to do. It's a good sign for her to get a personal best at this time of the season."
