Washington University Finishes Strong at Gregory Final Qualifier

The Washington University in St. Louis women's track & field program made one final push towards the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Championships during the conclusion of the Gregory Final Qualifier at North Central College on Thursday evening.

Junior Heidi Nassos likely solidified a chance to compete in multiple events at nationals on Thursday. She leapt a career-best 11.78m in the triple jump to place second at the meet and 13th in DIII.

The women's 4x400m relay fared well with a second place time of 3:52.05. The group of sophomore Nicky Althoff, freshman Sophie Grigaux, sophomore Sara Mesianoand senior Annalise Wagner previously recorded DIII's 10th fastest time this year (3:50.75).

Junior Heidi Nassos led the WashU women with a second place finish in the pole vault. She defeated the seventh ranked Division III pole vaulter from Ohio Northern as the duo tied with the same height of 3.83m but Nassos won on fewer jumps.

Freshman Julia Dannenbaum nearly matched her season-best height with 3.68m pole vault distance to place fourth. Junior Dominique Meyer placed sixth with a height of 3.43m.
