Michelle Dobbs and Brianna Hickey of Chicago Earn All-American Honors

The University of Chicago women's track and field team picked up a pair of All-American accolades at the final day of the NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships on Saturday.

The first UChicago All-American performance of the day came from sophomore Brianna Hickey in the one mile. Hickey held off several competitors in the final meters of the race to finish in sixth place in 4:57.77. Three racers crossed the finish line within 0.20 seconds of her time.

Freshman Michelle Dobbs was also an All-American in her first trip to nationals. Dobbs took fourth place in the 800 meters in a time of 2:13.28. It was also a close finish for Dobbs, as three competitors finished within 0.68 seconds of her time.

The 4x400-meter relay team raced in the final event of the weekend. The relay of sophomore Alison Pildner, senior Jennie Porter, junior Francesca Tomasi and sophomore Mikaela Hammel placed 10th in a time of 3:55.02.
