Spartans Finish Eighth at All-Ohio Track and Field Championship

The Case Western Reserve University women's track & field team finished with 42 team points to place eighth of 19 teams at the All-Ohio Division III Track and Field Championships hosted by Otterbein University on Saturday at the Rike Center.

The University of Mount Union won the championships with a score of 127.5 points, and Ohio Wesleyan University placed second with 111.

CWRU's top finish of the day came from junior Kelsey Aamoth (Solon, Ohio/Solon), who crossed the finish line of the 3,000m run with a second-place time of 10:16.34. 

Aamoth, along with fellow junior Juliana Ross (New York, N.Y./Bronx Science), senior McKenzie Braun (Omaha, Neb./West Side) and freshman Danielle Kulpins (Brookfield, Wis./Brookfield Central) made up the third place distance medley relay team which crossed the finish line for a time of 12:42.94.

In the 5,000m run, senior Kristen Ruckstuhl (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) finished second with a time of 18:05.77, while junior Lydia Greene (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike) finished sixth in 19:16.89.

In field events, junior Asante Brown (Rochester, N.Y./Hilton) hopped, skipped and jumped 10.95 meters (35'11.25") in the triple jump, and senior Sophia Herzog (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) pole vaulted 3.21 meters (10'6.25") for eighth place.

Sophomore Temi Omilabu (Katy, Texas/Seven Hills) finished eighth in the weight throw with a toss of 14.15 meters (46'5.25").
