From Emory University Athletics
The Emory University women's 4x400-meter relay team and
junior Julie Williamson each improved their qualifying
times for the NCAA Division III Championships, highlighting the
squad's performance at the Hilton Garden Innvitational in
Winston-Salem, North Carolina on Friday and Saturday.
For the women's 4x400-meter relay, it was freshman Julia
Leventhal, freshman Erica Goldman, Williamson and
senior Electra Korn finishing eighth overall in the event
with a time of 3:56.07. The time was the sixth-fastest run by
a relay in the program's history, and the second-fastest time to
date this season in Division III.
On Friday night, Williamson also improved on her time in the
800-meter run, finishing 10th in the event with a
mark of 2:16.60. The time was her fastest converted mark of
the year in the event, and ranks as the 11th-best
800-meter run time in Division III this season.
Also on Friday, senior Hannah Parra added times of 8.45
seconds in the 60-meter dash and 10.12 seconds in the 60-meter
hurdles, good for 68th- and 52nd-place
finishes, respectively. In the weight throw,
freshman Zoe Fowler finished 31st with a
toss of 11.32 meters.
Other Emory performances on Saturday for the Emory women included, Korn's sixth-place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.63 seconds, while Goldman finished 62ndin the event with a time of 27.53 seconds, and freshman Kora Dreffs placed 40th in the shot put with a throw of 10.19 meters.
