Emory Captures Tiger Indoor Invitational Title

The Emory University track & field teams put forth a strong effort at the Tiger Indoor Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The women placed first with 184 points, 96 more than second place Mississippi College. 

Leading the Eagles with top performances for the women were freshman Dilys Osei who was first in the 55m hurdles (8.74) and second in the 400m Dash (1:01.07) and classmate Dani Bland who was third in the 55m Dash (7.38) and fourth in the 200m Dash (26.97). Junior Alexa Young was first in the 800m Run at 2:27.24, an event where Emory claimed the top six spots. Sophomore Gabrielle Rudolph finished first in the one mile run with a time of 5:30.38 and freshman Kaylee Slade placed third in the 3,000m Run at 11:27.82.

In the relay events, the distance medley team of Erica Fischer, Sarah Cardwell-Smith, Paige Lasslauer and Hanna Saadegh-Vaziri took first at 13:25.72 and the 4x400m quartet of Lindsay Wilson, Elizabeth Magno, Radhika Shah and Young came in second with a time of 4:14.51.

Freshman Anne Marie Simoneaux took second in the pole vault at 2.99m to lead the field athletes while classmate Jordan Small placed third in the high jump at 1.60m. Senior Alexandra Aiello came in fifth in both the long jump (4.95m) and triple jump (10.77m). She also was fifth in the 55m Dash with a time of 7.54. Sophomore Valerie Linckfinished third in the shot put at 11.60m and freshman Jodie Jackson was fifth in the weight throw at 10.91m.
