Maroons Capture Team Title as Host of Margaret Bradley Invitational

The University of Chicago women's track and field team maintained its home dominance with a team title as host of the Margaret Bradley Invitational on Saturday.

UChicago captured eight event wins. Freshman Isabel Garon put together the day's top performance, as she broke her own school record in the pole vault with a height of 3.67 meters. Junior Cassidy McPherson was a double winner in the 800 meters (2:17.97) and as part of the 4x400-meter relay (4:13.61) alongside sophomore Jenna McKinney, junior Megan Verner-Crist and freshman Shelby Smith. Senior Madeleine Horvath was the victor in the one mile race (5:19.36) and freshman Robin Peter was across the line in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.09.

The women also racked up three more field event victories, with sophomore Alexandra Thompson in the high jump (1.59 meters), freshman Mary Martin in the long jump (5.34 meters) and sophomore Grace Penders in the triple jump (10.61 meters).
