Six Event Titles Pushes Emory to Third-Place Finish at UAA Championships

The Emory University Women's Track & Field team showcased its talents on the final day of the University Athletic Association Indoor Championships, capturing six event titles to finish third overall with 104 points.

Junior Dani Bland impressed on the afternoon, leading the team with three event titles including a pair of individual crowns in the 60m and 200m Dashes. In the 60m, Bland clocked a new personal best time of 7.71, moving her into a tie for fifth in program history, and in the 200m, Bland recorded a season-best time of 25.52. She added a conference title in the 4x400m Relay along with junior Dilys Osei, sophomore Kaitlyn Leonard and senior Erica Goldman. The quartet finished in a time of 3:56.40 to close out the meet for the Eagles.

Osei and senior Gabrielle Stravach also netted titles in track events for Emory on Sunday with Osei winning the 60m Hurdles with a sub.-9.00 time at 8.98, which represents the fourth fastest time in Emory history and a new personal record, while Stravach posted the second fastest time ever in the event with a dominating performance in the Mile Run, winning the event by over six seconds in a time of 4:57.42.

In the shot put, sophomore Greta Wilker claimed the team's sixth event championship on the afternoon, winning the event with a distance of 12.32m.

The Eagles added All-UAA performers with a pair of third place efforts: Goldman in the 400m Dash with a time of 57.79 and senior Kora Dreffs in the shot put at 11.69m.
