UAA Indoor Track and Field Championship Award Winners Announced

Henry Branstadter of Emory University was named Men's Most Outstanding Performer for field events and Rookie of the Year, headlining the 2023 UAA Indoor Track and Field Championships award winners.

Branstadter won the high jump with a mark of 1.98 meters and the long jump with a leap of 1.75 meters.

Junior Will Houser of UAA champion Washington University was selected as Men's Most Outstanding Performer for running events after capturing the mile in 4:16.45 and running the anchor leg of the Bears' Assocaition-record setting distance medley relay that finished in a time of 9:57.81.

On the women's side, senior Annika Urban of the Eagles was named the Women's Outstanding Performer for running events. She broke UAA records in the 5,000-meter run by nearly nine seconds (16:55.37) and in the mile (4:53.43).

Liz Barre of Carnegie Mellon University garnered Women's Most Outstanding Performer honors for field events after winning the high jump with a mark of 1.63 meters and the long jump with a leap of 5.57 meters.

Kylie Spytek of the champion Bears was named Women's Rookie of the Year. She finished second in the 400-meter run (57.35 seconds), third in the 200-meter dash (25.66 seconds), and ran the opening leg of the winning 1,600-meter relay (3:52.74).

Washington University head coach Jeff Stiles and his staff were named UAA Coaching Staff of the Year for both the women's and men's championship.
