Emma Kelley of WashU Wins 800 Meters NCAA Division III Title; Bears Finish Second in Team Standings

Junior Emma Kelley captured the NCAA Indoor National Title in the 800m, racing to a time of 2:06.62, setting a new Division III top time for the season as well as a new personal record.
 
Kelley's title in the 37th individual championship in WashU history.
 
Right behind Kelley in second place was senior Aoife Dunne, who ran a personal-best of 2:08.65.
 
Junior Ebun Opata finished second in the triple jump, hitting a mark of 12.44m, a new PR.
 
The Bears 4x400 team of Kylie SpytekSophie FoxNicole Stewart and Kelley finished third, racing to a time of 3:46.78 for six points.
 
Sophomore Lauren Gay finished eighth in the 200m, hitting a PR of 24.86 and picking up a point for the Bears.
 
Senior Emily Konkus placed fifth in the 3,000m, running a PR of 9:32.54.
 
The Bears recorded 54 points this weekend to finish second behind Wisconsin-La Crosse who won the national title with 59.5 points.
