Members of the New York University women's distance team competed at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Boston University's Track and Tennis Center.

In the women's mile run, Leah Haley and Katherine Cheng notched new personal records running 5:09.87 and 5:10.54, respectively. Both Haley and Cheng beat their previous records by just a bit over two seconds.

"It was great having another teammate pushing me through the race, and I wouldn't have been able to do it without her," Cheng said.

Grace Richardson (17:07.06) and Daniela Sekhar (18:16.11) competed in their first 5k as Violets, while Lucy Gott ran her first 3k and finished with a time of 10:23.31.
