WashU Women's Track and Field Wins Fourth Consecutive UAA Indoor Title

The No. 2 Washington University in St. Louis women's track and field team won its fourth consecutive UAA indoor title, racking up 194 points. The Bears edged Chicago by four points to claim the title.

Junior Emma Kelley defended her 400m title, setting a new meet record in 56.27. First-year Kylie Spytek took second in 57.35.
 
Senior Aoife Dunne won the 800m, racing to a time of 2:14.03. Junior Ally Sarussi finished sixth with a time of 2:18.81.
 
The 4x400 relay team of Spytek, Sarussi, senior Sophie Fox and Kelley took home the top spot with a time of 3:52.74.
 
Junior Ebun Opata won the triple jump, leaping 39-04.00, jumping nearly three feet farther than second place. First-year Diya Shadaksharappa finished fourth with a jump of 36-04.75.
 
First-year Jasmine Wright finished fourth in the 60m, racing to a time of 7.73 while senior Mycah Clay finished sixth in 7.82 and sophomore Nicole Stewart took seventh in 7.84.
 
Sophomore Lauren Gay finished second in the 200m, finishing in 25.25. Right behind her was Spytek who finished third in 25.66 and Stewart claimed fourth in 25.74.
 
Dunne finished second in the mile run with a time of 4:56.40 while junior Helena Teixeira-Dasilva finished sixth in 5:02.97 and senior Lindsay Ott finished seventh in 5:06.30.
 
Emily Konkus claimed second in the 3,000m, racing to a time of 9:37.24. Both Konkus and winner Maddie Kelly (Chicago) beat the previous meet record set in 2017. First-year Katie Rector took sixth in 10:07.95 and senior Ella Behrens finished seventh in 10:11.68.
 
Junior Charis Riebe finished third in the 60m hurdles, racing to a time of 8.91. Gay took fifth in 9.11.
 
Graduate Miku Okada finished second in the high jump, clearing 5-02.25. Senior Laura Bucchieri claimed sixth with a jump of 5-00.25 while junior Maddie Moenickheim finished seventh, clearing 5-00.25.
 
First-year Jenae Bothe took second in the shot put, hitting a mark of 44-07.50, breaking her own program record. Sophomore Taylor Simpson finished sixth with a throw of 38-10.25.
