From Case Western Reserve University Athletics

The Case Western Reserve University volleyball team has continued its run of excellence in the classroom by earning the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award for the seventh season in a row.

The award, which was initiated during the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale.

The Spartans posted a team GPA of 3.43 in 2013-14. Half of the squad's second-year or higher members earned University Athletic Association All-Academic honors, awarded to student-athletes who have completed at least one full year of college study and who carry a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.30.
