From Emory University Athletics
The No. 2-ranked Emory volleyball team closed out the
opening day of action at the Berry College Invitational Saturday
evening with a decisive win over Lynchburg College. The
Eagles raised their record to 2-0 following a 3-0 (25-20, 25-17,
25-23) decision over the Hornets.
Sophomore middle Jessica
Holler (Roswell, GA) hit .400 on the strength of nine
kills with three errors in 15 attempts. Senior Leah
Jacobs (Linville, VA) totaled eight successful attack
attempts while senior Kate Bowman (Corpus
Christi, TX) and sophomore Sarah
Maher (Orange, CA) each chipped in five
terminations. The Eagles hit .198 (34-16—91) in
the encounter while limiting LC to .078 percent
(32-24—103). Emory enjoyed a 7-4 advantage in total
blocks and a slim 41-40 edge in digs.
