The Case Western Reserve University volleyball team concluded its regular season finishing third place in the University Athletic Association Championship with a 3-1 victory over the University of Chicago.
The third place finish for the Spartans is the volleyball program's best finish since a third place finish in the UAA Championships in 1997.
CWRU concludes the regular season with a 24-7 record while Chicago dropped to 20-7 overall.
The Spartans were paced by junior outside hitter Marian Barton who recorded 21 kills during the match for a .377 hitting percentage. Senior middle hitter Haley Kauffman tallied 13 kills and maintained a .433 hitting percentage. Earning a double-double, senior outside hitter Carolyn Bogart finished 10 attacks and contributed team-high 24 digs to the Spartans total. Freshman setter Shannon Carroll turned in a season-high 47 assists. In the back row, freshman defensive specialist Karina Bondelid recorded 18 digs, while senior libero Katie Best upped 17.
