The No. 3-ranked Emory volleyball team continued its winning ways on Monday afternoon, registering a victory at Piedmont College. The Eagles nailed down their ninth straight win and raised their overall record to 21-2 following a 3-0 decision (25-19, 25-10, 25-12) over the Lions who slipped to 13-9.

Junior Kathryn Trinka paced a dominating Emory attack with a career-high tying 20 kills, and posting a blistering .600 hitting mark (20-2—30). Trinka's terminations total tied the program's seventh-highest mark for a three-set match, and represented her 19th performance of double-digit kills in 21 contests this year. Junior Sarah Maher hit .700 on the strength of seven kills in 10 opportunities while classmate Shannon Nugent was successful on all six of her attacking attempts.  For the match, the trio of Trinka, Maher and Nugent hit a combined .673 (33-2—46). The senior tandem of Sydney Miles and Ashley Crawford aided in the win, with Miles dishing out 42 assists and Crawford leading all players with 16 digs.

Emory concluded the day hitting .446 (46-9—83), its second highest total of the year and third match of .400 or better this season. The Eagles limited the host Lions to an attack percentage of .106 (22-13—85) and enjoyed a healthy 44-23 edge in digs.
