Maren Loe of Chicago Receives AVCA First Team All-American Honors

University of Chicago volleyball player Maren Loe capped her collegiate career with First Team All-American honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) on Tuesday.

This marks the first time a Maroon volleyball player has received first or second team All-American status. Loe was previously picked as a Honorable Mention All-American in 2014.

The outside hitter concluded her senior season ranked fifth in NCAA Division III in total kills (560), eighth in kills per set (4.52) and second in total attacks (1,655). The 560 kills are the second-most single-season kills in school history. She also hit .227 overall with 38 aces, 374 digs and 51 blocks.

Loe is featured prominently in the UChicago record books. She is No. 1 in career kills (1,960), No. 1 in season kills (617), No. 6 in career digs (1,378), No. 8 in career aces (150) and No. 8 in career assisted blocks (189).
