Spartans Sweep at Ohio Wesleyan

The Case Western Reserve University volleyball swept a pair of matches in Delaware, Ohio on Saturday, defeating Allegheny College 3-0, and then earned a 3-1 victory over Ohio Wesleyan University.

The Spartans improve to 17-10 on the season, while Allegheny drops to 5-22 and Ohio Wesleyan moves to 10-12 overall.

CWRU defeated the Gators in the first match of the day 25-11, 25-12 and 25-14. The Spartans performance was highlighted by a .309 hitting percentage throughout the three sets.

Junior outside hitter Karley King led the Spartans with 11 kills, while sophomore middle blocker Katie Kaminski collected eight. Junior setter Faith Ellis led the team with 13 assists and six digs. Defensively, sophomore libero Anna Jaskoviak recorded a team-high 12 digs, while freshman outside hitter Lauren Carmon tallied 10.

CWRU then earned a four-set victory over Ohio Wesleyan, 25-21, 25-15, 19-25 and 25-21.

Kaminski paced the Spartans on the attack with a team-best 18 kills, while King added 17 to the tally. Ellis led the team with 21 assists, while sophomore setter Jordyn Harberts tallied 20. Jaskoviak led the Spartan defense with 22 digs, while senior defensive specialist Emily Wolfenbarger contributed 14.
