From University of Chicago Athletics 

University of Chicago cross country runner Brianna Hickey was picked as the NCAA Division III Cross Country Athlete of the Week by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The Maroons took first out of 11 teams at the season-opening Elmhurst College Earlybird Invitational last Friday.

Hickey won the women's race with a time of 14:58.0 in a field of 131 racers. It was her second career collegiate victory and the junior beat out Aurora University's Emily Paull by 1.2 seconds. Both runners are returning All-Americans in track and field. The rest of the field finished 24 seconds behind the duo.
