From University of Rochester Athletics

With two women through the finish line in the top 51 runners and all five scorers among the top 40%, the women's cross country team gave a strong performance at the Rowan University Inter-Regional Border Battle on Saturday morning.

This has become a tradition in cross country circles with teams that are hosting the NCAA Regionals using a mid-season meet as a dress rehearsal for the event and one that provides outstanding competition.

Rochester finished in 16th place out of 45 teams. The Yellowjackets totaled 399 points. Three hundred eighty six runners took part.

Annie Peterson was the top Yellowjacket runner. She was clocked in 21:42.9 for the six kilometer course. She finished 29th overall. Rachel Bargabos was 51st in 22:08.8. Audrey McCarthy ran to a 22:24.5 time which placed her 71st and third among the Yellowjackets.

Ayumi Yusa was fourth in 114th place (22:54.1). The fifth scorer was Ariane Hasbrouck in 23:05.5 (134th). UR's displacers were Clara Wolfe (23:10.0, 141st) and Katherine Van Der Sloot (23:21.5, 154th).
