Danielle Kulpins Leads CWRU at Ohio Wesleyan Invitational

Case Western Reserve University senior Danielle Kulpins placed sixth overall in the field of 224 runners on Saturday at the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational in Powell, Ohio, to lead the Spartans to a sixth-place finish in the team standings at the meet.

The Spartans totaled a score of 111 at the meet to finish in sixth place, coming in behind Hope (64), Otterbein (80), Kenyon (87), Oberlin (89) and John Carroll (94).

Kulpins crossed the finish line of the 6,000-meter race in a time of 22:49.1 to earn the sixth-place finish.  It was the second time in as many meets this season that she has been the Spartans' top finisher.

Junior Jennifer Hoffmann came across the line with a mark of 23:08.7 to place 17th overall, and was followed by sophomore Madeline Lindemann in 23rd-place with a time of 23:18.9.  Completing the list of scoring Spartan finishers at the meet were sophomore Vanessa Pasadyn in 32nd-place with a time of 23:34.2, and senior Rachel Laveson in 33rd place with a time of 23:40.7. 

Rounding out CWRU's top-seven finishers at the meet were junior Isa Torres-Padin (45th, 23:58.4) and freshman Kiera Olson (67th, 24:25.5), while other top finishers for the Spartans included freshman Olivia Battistoni (71st, 24:34.0), senior Claire Plunkett (86th, 24:46.6) and junior Sophie Trikeriotis (92nd, 24:53.7).

Oberlin's Linnea Halsten won the meet with a time of 21:47.2.
