Emory to Host UAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday

Emory University will host the University Athletic Association Championships on Saturday. The championships will be conducted at Nash Farm Battlefield in Hampton, Georgia.

Five men's teams and four UAA women's teams are nationally ranked in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Top-35 Poll. 

MEN

Three UAA teams are scattered among four spots in the NCAA Division III poll. Carnegie Mellon, which has won the past two championships in 2019 and 2021 (there was no championship in 2020 due to COVID-19) is ranked ninth with Emory 10th and WashU 12th. Case Western Reserve University (20th) and University of Chicago (29th) are also ranked entering the championship.

WOMEN

Washington University has won the past seven UAA championships (from 2014-2021 with no championship in 2020 due to COVID-19) and enters this year's championship ranked seventh. However, University of Chicago, seeking its first UAA title since 2013, enters the race as the top-ranked team in the NCAA Division III poll. Emory (21st) and NYU (23rd) are also ranked.
