UChicago Women’s Cross Country Wins Augustana Invitational

In a field stacked with nationally-ranked squads, the University of Chicago women's cross country team topped the standings once again at the Augustana College Invitational on Saturday.

The No. 3-ranked Maroons won the team title for the fourth time in five meets. UChicago scored 54 points to edge out No. 2-ranked Wartburg College (57 points) in the 25-team field. All told, the Maroons placed seven runners in the top 21.

Senior Frances Schaeffler was the squad's top finisher, as she crossed the line in fifth place with a 6K time of 21:26.9. Senior Anna Kenig-Ziesler was the next UChicago finisher in seventh place in 21:30.8. Junior Lucy Groothuis was 10th overall in 21:36.5.
