Yellowjackets Garner Fourth-Place Finish at Niagara Regional

Three 'Jackets earned all-region honors as the University of Rochester women's cross country ran to a fourth-place finish out of 24 competing teams at the NCAA Niagara Regional, hosted by Rochester at Genesee Valley Park.
 
Lisa Pink led the way for UR with a 16th-place finish, falling just two spots shy of automatically qualifying for the NCAA Championships with her 23:09.9 time.
 
Kat Benninger was next up for the Yellowjackets in 34th, coming in at 23:59.4, while Rachel Dennis rounded out UR's three all-region finishers with her time of 24:00.0, good for 35th.
 
Meredith Crockett and Sennett Turner rounded out Rochester's top five, with Crockett earning a 37th-place finish, just shy of all-region, with her time of 24:01.9, while Turner came in 40th with a time of 24:13.9.
 
Alicia Lawson made in six runners for Rochester in the top 50, coming in at 43rd with a time of 24:20.8, while Alissa Beam ran a 25:24.8, good for 76th.
 
SUNY Geneseo took home the Niagara Region title with five of the top six finishers, led by Kathleen McCarey, who won the regional with her time of 21:56.5. NYU and Ithaca rounded out the top three team finishers, while Rochester was right behind the Bombers with 162 points.
