From University of Chicago Athletics

University of Chicago's men's and women's cross country programs took home first place in its opening race of the 2023 season at the St. Francis Twilight Invitational.

MEN

UChicago took the top-three spots and had five of the first seven finishers, setting the pace for the field. Noah Bender, Jack Begley and John List took first, second and third, respectively, to lead the Maroons. In total, nine of UChicago's runner finished inside the top-20.

WOMEN

The Maroons had all six of the top-six performers led by Evelyn Battleson-Gunkel. Maddie Kelly, Sophie Tedesco, Elisabeth Camic, Caitlin Jorgensen and Cat Wimmer rounded out the top-six in that order, respectively.
 
UChicago also had all 14 of its racers finish inside the top-29.
