NYU Competes at Eric Sollee Invitational

The New York University women's fencing team competed at the Eric Sollee Invitational in Waltham, MA, on Saturday, January 25. 

NYU began the invitational against Boston College, falling to the Eagles 21-6. In the second round, the Violets took on Brown University, losing 17-10. In the third round, NYU earned its first victory of the day by beating Haverford College 15-12.

In round four, the Violets beat Massachusetts Institute of Technology 14-13 in the tightest match of the day. In the fifth round, NYU won their third match of the day, beating Hunter College 20-7.  In the final round, NYU lost to host Brandeis University 20-7.

The Violets finished the invitational with a 3-3 record and have an overall record of 6-14 this season.

HIGHLIGHTS:

- Junior Alyssa Parkhurst led the team in wins with 14 while only losing four matches in epee.

- Junior captain Audra Fox earned a 13-5 record in foil.
