Tartans Drop Contest to Division II Edinboro

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team, ranked 22nd in Division III, played Division II Edinboro University on Friday night and lost 6-3. The Tartan dual record is now 1-2 while the Fighting Scots are 4-1.

How it Happened:

  • The Tartans second doubles team of senior Derek Wong and sophomore Akshay Joshi claimed an 8-7 (6) win to give the Tartans their first point.
  • Edinboro led 2-1 following double play and then recorded the first three points in singles to seal the win.
  • The Tartans picked up three-set victories at one and three singles with senior Nadim Motaghedi winning 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 at thr three spot and freshmen Raghav Jangbahadur wining at the top spot 7-6 (6), 6-0, 1-0 (12).
