(CLEVELAND, Ohio) – The Carnegie Mellon University softball team faced 10th-ranked Case Western Reserve University for a doubleheader on Saturday, April 27, falling in both games in five innings. The Spartans won game one, 12-3, and game two, 9-0. The Tartans are now 15-18 and 8-11 in the University Athletic Association (UAA) and the Spartans are 31-5 and 16-3.
Inside the Box Score of Game 1
- Senior Kiera Boucher had two of the team's four hits.
- Sophomore Maya Goodwin walked three times and scored twice while sophomore Kira Monji scored one run.
- The Tartans' first run came in the third inning when junior Faith Lawrence doubled to left center to plate Goodwin. The run made the score 6-1.
- The Tartans also scored in the fifth inning as Lawrence hit a sacrifice fly and freshman Maya Bala hit a double.
