The College of Wooster women's tennis team struggled against Case Western Reserve University on Saturday and suffered a 9-0 defeat.

The teams started outside until they were forced inside due to weather. However, the change of scenery didn't help the Scots.

Wooster fell behind early in doubles play. Laura Haley and Kimberly Nguyen had the best showing in the No. 1 spot, falling 8-2. At the No. 2 flight, Otilia Oita and Emma Saxton fell 8-1, while the No. 3 team of Sarah Duran and Abby Kushner Benson lost 8-0.

In singles play, Oita took a 6-4, 6-2 defeat in the No. 1 flight.

Through the 2-6 flights, Wooster managed just one game when Nguyen fell at the No. 4 spot 6-0, 6-1. Everyone else took 6-0, 6-0 losses.

Case Western Reserve improves to 4-0 on the year. Wooster (0-9) will look for its first win next time out when they travel to Ohio Wesleyan University on Sunday.
