Athletes of the Week for May 24, 2021

Softball - Hitter

Marley Felder  —  Brandeis University  —  Miami, FL (American Heritage School)

Brandeis University junior Marley Felder earned all-region honors at the Husson regional of the NCAA Division III Softball Championship. She finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored, driving in one run and scoring the game-tying run in the seventh inning as the Judges scored six times to edge Eastern Connecticut State University, 10-9, in the first round. In three games, Felder batted .455 (5-for-11).

Women’s Outdoor Track and Field

Emma Kelley  —  Washington University  —  St. Louis, MO (Webster Groves)

First-year runner Emma Kelley of Washington University placed fourth in the 800-meter run (2:12.29) and ran on the fifth-place 1,600-meter relay (3:51.86) at the Augustana College Midwest Twilight Final Qualifier. Qualifying for the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships in both events, she is the only Bears’ woman to qualify in two events.

Eka Jose  —  Washington University  —  Kansas City, MO (Liberty North)

Senior Eka Jose of Washington University posted a season-best distance in the triple jump at the Augustana College Midwest Twilight Final Qualifier. She recorded a mark of 12.10 meters in the event and sealed her spot in the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships.

Men’s Outdoor Track and Field

Jacob Ridderhoff  —  Washington University  —  Woodridge, IL (Downers Grove North)

Junior Jacob Ridderhoff posted a career-best time in winning the 1,500-meter run at the Augustana College Midwest Twilight Final Qualifier. His time of 3:48.88 qualified him for the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships.


Athlete of the Week selections are drawn from nominees submitted by member institution coaches and sports information directors. UAA Athletes of the Week are selected in each sport in which the UAA sponsors competition. They are selected on the basis of their individual performances and contributions to team efforts during the past week in both Association and non-Association competition.
