HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The #10 Juniata women's volleyball team continued their winning ways with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-18) win over visiting Carnegie Mellon, Saturday afternoon.

The opening set was close in the opening stages, with the Eagles regaining the lead at 10-9 off a kill from Kennedy Christy (Saxonburg, Pa. / Knoch HS). the Tartans hung around, pulling back within one later at 16-15. Kills from Victoria Taylor (Middletown, Del. / Delaware Military Academy) and Grace Erskine (Mooresville, N.C. / Community School of Davidson) push the lead back to four. The Eagles closed the set with a 6-3 surge to win 25-18 on another Christy kill. Juniata tallied 19 kills with a.368 hitting percentage in the set.

Set two saw JC hit an even more efficient .375 as they dominated the second set to win 25-15.

The third set followed a similar script to the first, with the Eagles quickly retaking the lead and slowly pulling away. With the score at 18-15, a kill from Olivia Foley (Coldwater, Mich / Coldwater HS) and a bad set from the CMU setter pushed the Eagle advantage to five. Carnegie Mellon never got within four the rest of the way. With the score at 23-18, a kill from Kiona Sky Rousset-Hernandez (Rio Grande, Puerto Rico / Colegio Bautista de Carolina HS), a ball-handling error from the visitors got JC to match point before Christy ended the match with her match-high 14th kill.

Juniata will host Goucher this Wednesday for Landmark Conference play. The game time is 7:00.
