NORTON, Mass. – The Brandeis men's soccer team played to its third non-conference tie of the season today, as the Judges and Wheaton College Lyons battled to a 0-0 draw at Wheaton today. The Judges move to 3-2-3 on the season, while the Lyons are now 3-5-1.

Brandeis owned a 20-18 shooting advantage, turning up the pressure in the second half, when they outshot Wheaton, 9-5. Wheaton looked to be the more dangerous side in the overtime periods, outshooting their visitors, 5-1. Brandeis looked to have escaped with the win with less than two minutes remaining in the game, but their golden goal was whistled off for being offside. That play came shortly after Brandeis senior Greg Irwin (Passaic, N.J./Seton Hall Prep) made his second save of overtime. Wheaton's Diego Medina stymied Brandeis rookie Adam Kulick (Cambridge, Mass./Cambridge) a bit earlier in the second extra session.

Irwin finished with six saves, one shy of his season- and career-high. The shutout was the eighth of his career. Medina had seven stops for Wheaton.

With three ties on the season, the Judges are one shy of a program record, having posted four draws in their 2016 Final Four season. The squad's four overtime contests this year are still a long way from that campaign's program-record 10 extra-session games.

Brandeis returns to action on Saturday at noon in their first-ever meeting with Mitchell College.
