The University of Chicago football team will be participating for the seventh-straight year in the Go4theGoal's Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer campaign during their home game against Illinois College on Saturday, Sept. 11.

As part of Go4theGoal's Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer initiative, every player will be wearing a pair of gold shoelaces, the color for pediatric cancer awareness. Every pair represents a donation made by UChicago football and will also help spread awareness for the cause.

"The University of Chicago football program is humbled to once again 'LACE UP' with Go4TheGoal to support pediatric cancer," said UChicago Defensive Coordinator Luke Cutkomp. "Our coaches, players, and staff look forward to once again wearing the yellow laces to support children and families battling cancer. While we were not able to wear yellow laces during one of our games a year ago due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our program was still able fundraise in support of Comer Children's Hospital at UChicago Medicine. The goal of this partnership is to lift the spirts of those battling pediatric cancer and provide financial support to the children and families."

"We're proud to once again join forces with UChicago football to raise funds and awareness for kids with cancer in Chicago," said Nick Kelleher, Athletic Coordinator with Go4theGoal. "It's awesome to know we can always count on their support. Despite not having a season last fall, the Maroons got involved in our online fundraising campaign and helped us on our mission. We look forward to working with them this year and for years to come!"
