University of Chicago's Emma Griffith and Jackson Ross were chosen to the 2020-21 Academic All-America® volleyball and football teams, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Griffith was named a First Team CoSIDA Academic All-American at her setter position. She was previously a Third Team Academic All-American in 2019.

During her three years as a starter, Griffith guided the Maroon volleyball offense with 10.79 assists per set. She ranked fifth in the nation in assists per set (11.01) in 2019, and second in the country in total assists (1,367) in 2018. Griffith was also a big contributor defensively, averaging 3.15 digs per set in her career with 1,088 total digs. She also posted 117 total blocks (0.34 per set) and served up 132 aces (0.38 per set).

Griffith's on-court prowess was rewarded in 2019 with First Team All-American accolades from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). Her career honors include 2018 Honorable Mention All-American, AVCA All-Region twice and First Team All-University Athletic Association (UAA) three times. She helped lead the Maroons to an .816 overall winning percentage – the squad qualified for the NCAA postseason all three years.

Ross earned First Team CoSIDA Academic All-America status in football. A three-year starter on the defensive line, he previously achieved Second Team Academic All-America honors in 2018.

Ross anchored the middle of UChicago's defense, leading the team in tackles all three seasons. He averaged 93 tackles per year (9.6 per game) as a defensive tackle. Ross also posted 9.5 sacks and 20.5 tackles for loss in his career. He blocked three kicks, forced four fumbles and grabbed two interceptions. The Maroons only allowed 15.1 points per game during his time, including four shutouts.

During his decorated career, Ross was named Third Team All-Region and First Team All-Midwest Conference in 2018 and 2019. D3football.com picked him as a 2020 Third Team Preseason All-American. He was also the 2017 MWC North Division Rookie of the Year. Ross earned a spot on the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team in 2020.
