Four of the five Maroons came from the defensive unit. UChicago totaled 10 shutouts in 19 games played, only allowing 0.68 goals per game.

Goalkeeper Aaron Katsimpalis became a two-time All-Region honoree with his First Team accolade. He was Second Team All-Region after the 2018 season. The junior started all 19 games and played every minute for the Maroons, while recording a 0.64 goals against average and an .849 save percentage. Katsimpalis currently ranks No. 2 in school history with 24 career shutouts, No. 3 with a 0.69 goals against average and No. 6 in minutes played with 4,283.

In 19 starts at right back, he contributed three goals, including two game-winners. He was previously named University Athletic Association (UAA) Defensive Player of the Year in November.

Defenders Richard Gillespie and Isaiah Holquist were picked to the Second Team All-Region. A junior, Holquist started all 19 games primarily at left back, while also adding two assists offensively. First-year Gillespie started 16 games with two goals and two assists at center back – he was voted the UAA Rookie of the Year as well.
