University of Chicago men's cross placed ninth at the Pre-Nationals meet on Saturday.

Forest Akers East Golf Course, which served as Saturday's race site, will also be the host of the NCAA Division III Championships in November.

UChicago scored 276 points and finished ninth of 36 teams. MIT won the team title with 62 points. Senior Cy Chittenden completed the 8K with a time of 25:24.4 to grab 32nd place. Graduate student John Hood was next across the line in 37th (25:32.1). The Maroon scoring contingent also included graduate student Joe Lemna (50th, 25:50.2), senior Luke Collins (69th, 26:03.1) and senior Dan Spellman (92nd, 26:19.7).
