For the fourth time in Washington University in St. Louis women's golf program history, the Bears had a pair of teammates in senior Samantha Haubenstock and freshman Annie Mascot earn Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Division III First-Team All-American honors, as announced Wednesday by the organization.

WashU also had a pair of first-team honorees in 2012 (Hannah Buck, Olivia Lugar), 2014 (Lugar, Connie Zhou) and 2015 (Lugar, Zhou).

Haubenstock is just the fourth player in program history to earn All-American honors three times, while Mascot becomes the sixth player in school history to earn All-America accolades.

SAMANTHA HAUBENSTOCK
Haubenstock, who earned second-team All-America honors in 2017 and 2018, finished the season ranked sixth in Division III in scoring average (74.48). She fired six of seven rounds in the 70s or lower, and won two individual titles - Rhodes Classic and DIII NCAA Preview.

Haubenstock tied the 18-hole school record (66) and 36-hole school record (139) at the Rhodes Classic, and earned UAA Athlete of the Week honors on Sept. 9 and Sept. 16.

"Sam has been a consistently strong performer over her four years. Her win at the NCAA Preview in the fall made the statement that she was ready to compete for a national title," said WashU head coach Mary Swanson. "She has rewritten many of the WashU record books and set a high bar for players who come after her!"

ANNIE MASCOT
Mascot ranked first in NCAA Division III in scoring average 72.55, and fired all 11 rounds in the 70s or lower. She set the WashU single-season record in scoring average and tied the mark in par or better rounds (5).

Mascot, a WGCA first-team All-Central Region honoree, claimed three individual titles in the Fall – I-70 Dual, Rhodes Classic and Arkansas State Lady Red Wolves Classic. She set the 36-hole score with a 139 at the Rhodes Classic, and shattered the 54-hole school record with a 211 at the Arkansas State Lady Red Wolves Classic.

Mascot was named the UAA Athlete of the Week on Sept. 3, Sept. 23 and Oct. 21.

"Annie has started off her career at WashU hot. She came in ready to compete and contribute and that focus paid off," Swanson said. "She made a strong statement winning the Lady Red Wolves Classic in record-setting fashion and we look forward to seeing her develop in her next three years!"

WashU was ranked second in the WGCA Top-25 Poll and finished the season ranked fifth in NCAA Division III in scoring average (307.64).The Bears won their first three tournaments to open the fall season – I-70 Dual, Rhodes Classic and DIII NCAA Preview – and set the school record for low 18-hole (281) and 36-hole (574) at Rhodes.
