Samantha Haubenstock and Annie Mascot of Bears Named All-Central Region

Senior Samantha Haubenstock and freshman Annie Mascot were named to the 2020 Region 3/Central Region Team by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA), as announced Monday by the organization.

Haubenstock, a three-time all-Region selection, concluded the season ranked fourth in the Central Region and sixth in NCAA Division III in scoring average (74.48). 

She fired six of seven rounds in the 70s or lower, and won two individual titles - Rhodes Classic and DIII NCAA Preview. Haubenstock tied the 18-hole school record (66) and 36-hole school record (139) at the Rhodes Classic.  

She earned Athlete of the Week honors on Sept. 9 and Sept. 16, and graduates as the all-time leader in scoring average (75.62) and par or better rounds (13).

ANNIE MASCOT
Mascot ranked first in NCAA Division III in scoring average 72.55, and fired all 11 rounds in the 70s or lower. She set the WashU single-season record in scoring average and tied the mark in par or better rounds (5). Mascot claimed three individual titles in the Fall – I-70 Dual, Rhodes Classic and Arkansas State Lady Red Wolves Classic. 

She set the 36-hole school record with a 139 at the Rhodes Classic, and shattered the 54-hole school record with a 211 at the Arkansas State Lady Red Wolves Classic. Mascot was named the UAA Athlete of the Week on Sept. 3, Sept. 23 and Oct. 21.

WashU was ranked first in the Central Region and fifth in NCAA Division III in scoring average (307.64). The Bears won their first three tournaments to open the fall season – I-70 Dual, Rhodes Classic and DIII NCAA Preview. WashU set the school record for low 18-hole (281) and 36-hole (574) at the Rhodes Classic.
