The fourth-ranked Case Western Reserve University women's soccer team defeated the University of Pittsburgh Greensburg 6-1 in the First Round of the 2022 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship at DiSanto Field in Cleveland, Ohio on Saturday afternoon.

The Spartans improved to 16-0-1 with the win, matching the program record for wins in a single season. CWRU will face Ithaca College in the Second Round tomorrow at 1 p.m. at DiSanto Field after the Bombers defeated Capital University 1-0 later in the day. The Bobcats end their season with a record of 15-4-1. With the six goals, CWRU has scored 53 on the season, setting a new single-season program record.

Senior midfielder/forward Helina VanBibber scored two goals for the third time this season, increasing her season total to seven. Sophomore forward Carolyn Koutures, graduate student forward Camryn Hartman, senior midfielder Anika Washburn, and first-year forward Ceci Dapino each added goals in the contest.

Koutures started the scoring in the 20th minute, scoring on a corner kick set piece. Senior midfielder Aniya Hartzler sent the corner kick into the box, which was headed by first-year midfielder Jamie Goldfarb toward the goal. Koutures then deflected the ball into the lower right corner of the goal. Both Hartzler and Goldfarb earned their first of two assists of the match on the play.

Hartman scored just two minutes later, doubling the Spartan advantage in the 22nd minute. Hartzler sent a pass from midfield into the box to Hartman, who beat a defender with a spin move and fired a shot into the lower left corner of the goal. It was Hartman's team-leading 11th goal of the season with Hartzler earning her eighth assist of the campaign.

In the second half, VanBibber scored twice, netting goals in the 52nd and 66th minutes. Her first goal was assisted by Washburn and her second was a solo effort. The senior dribbled in the box, around a defender, and hit a low shot that beat the Bobcat keeper.

Just a minute later, Washburn added a goal of her own to make the score 5-0. Senior defender Elizabeth White sent a free kick into the box which Goldfarb fired into a defender. Washburn collected the rebound and finished with a shot into the lower left corner. Goldfarb had her second assist of the season, and White picked up her third. It was Washburn's second goal and third assist in 2022.

The Bobcats scored in the 69th minute to prevent a shutout, but Dapino added the sixth Spartan goal of the match in the 85th minute, with an assist from senior defender Lexi Gomez. It was Dapino's third goal and Gomez's first assist this season.

Junior goalkeeper Maggie Storti saved two shots and picked up her 16th win of the season. CWRU outshot Pitt.-Greensburg 28-5, including an 18-3 advantage in shots on goal. Hartman led all players with eight shots and four on target.
